IMMORTALITY
Foreword
"What powers I once had, I lay them to dust now."
Verse.
He stood - beneath falling clouds
And let them breathe over him.
One gasp - absorbed
Their life and prevalence.
Let fade - his memory
Of all hope and sense.

And as I’m sitting here wondering what the fuck I’m supposed to do I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth. The taste of failure.
And beaches don’t mean shit. And pain is pain no matter where you are, and it will always hurt no matter how fast you try to run in front of it.

don’t hear your music
come to me on Sunday mornings
soon after church, as the
sauce sit simmering on the stove,
when walking in the sun-
bright yellow kitchen,
still a child with stones
and matches in my pockets,
you would hug me
and the cold winter
would pass into a Spring
breeze coming through open
windows, tossing the curtains
so quickly you removed
yourself from me

Chasing romantic memories,
I have flung myself across the Pacific,
Determined to grow a new me.
------------------------------------
Spiritually crippled,
Seeking the light I once found,
I have cast away my safety.

.
But;
External fame lit by internal flame burns eternal

Can you feel that raging raw red fire?
That sizzling as she seizes desire
That heat from her amber eyes
That match head red lipstick
That took me by surprise
That sauvignon breath
That drank in my life
That very first look
That of a woman inside

I live in a war zone
I have had my ideals beaten bloody
I have had my dreams held hostage
I have had my future executed
By powerful dictators ruling behind veils
Hellbent on disaster capitalism.
Sucking out the life breath
Through under handed foreplay
And blatant sadistic fetish fixes
Of staggering rates.
I bought the lie and brought it home
Only to find there were missing pieces
And instructions in a foreign tongue
With no warranty
Or return policy.

I see them most days
when they drop by the cafe
for breakfast
they're coming in
I'm walking out
the old man's wiry
cantankerous
the wife is a kinder sort
she's learned how to deal
with the old man
they always come in an
ancient Dodge pick-up
she's behind the wheel
he's on the passenger side
two irish setters in the back

Melting mates we’ve become
So inspiring we succumb
Melt with me candle top
Hot pooling hot spot
Puddling water falling wax
Heat and flame

Leaves
Dead night sunlight sheds me off
Dank hugs without recoil
Torn between the knees of thrones
Soiled view of a famous Jew
Or to thrive on human juice unused

'Unwanted' Ramblings (Naked and Alone).
Where are you? Where are you my friend?
I look for you, I wait for you, but you are not to be found,
I call for you, I pray for you, but you never make a sound,
Where are you? Why are you not here?
I have no fear of you.
I welcome you.
Standing on the cliff edge of my emotions,
I watch, I wait, I listen to the breeze calling my name.
Naked and alone, I am chilled to the bone,
By the air of desperation, that surrounds me.
