do i see what i truly see or is it my eyes that decieve

this blessing thus blessed upon me

in my waking hour i rise

i see the same vixen from my dreams

is there such trickery

or in her eyes does thy also see me

flawless eyes my sight recives

Corn shucks chip away at the dirt of her half torn planked floor

The ice box sits on the dirt of her food stock that is alive no more

Her words drink of fields in small dry syllables for the poor

With corn cracked flesh fingers lingering over thoughts strummed to long

In the wryness of her day as her life pulls away singing old farmer songs

Here, dirt is the only true earth and the king cause for dying

Yesterday Jimbo was killed.

He slid into heaven dirty and bruised like it was home plate.

That man lived and loved with intention.

When you've been through hell and back again

and meet someone who's done the same

a bond is easily formed

though few words need be exchanged.

I see through

              a geometric looking

                            glass of spinning

                                          flora, triangles alike.

                                          A door frame, portal

                            beyond, resovoir of

              fleeting shape shifters.

I am left to reflect,

Perceptual antiquities tend to disturb me

Forever decent was the thread that held my

Silver thoughts together

Forever decent was my mind

But that was several days ago, and I've

No way home

Oh little salamander,

 How I loved you so,

Light, light green with one red spot,

I will miss you now, you know,

I saw you lying dead in the driveway,

 Rotting on the ground,

No more peeking out from in the bushes,

Walking picket sticks of Arlington alongside the killing dead

Ponder does include me why the skies are not bleeding red

Her white chain fence growing up from fertile ground

Blackground crow sergeants warn against me hanging around

For she has her way of measuring and filing away young men

In six foot directions receiving soldiers fighting for her skin

Into the minds they go

Literary poets with naked cloths

Wordy little hoe’s with books and bows

Pulitzers carried in pedagogical sack

A slice above Webster’s new world

Be they lonely men or genius grown girls

Mining the silt within our cloud

Milking words that scream out loud

Why must the heart

Beat me so

This soft desirable criminal,

Sentenced to

Solitary confinement

In quivering quiet refinement,

You alone ravish

Lately I have been coloring outside the lines,

My waxy elementary emotions bleeding into one another,

Like crayons with flat dull surfaces,

That threaten to divot inward,

Because my bitten fingernails are unable to tear back the paper that labels them,

Marking my simple feelings,

Blink blink blink,

The cursor looks back at me,

And as I think of giving up writing,

Because my words look stupid and inadequate,

I sit here crying, broken and broken hearted,

Goodbye words,

Goodbye.

He gathered up the points

as they fell from the sky.

Each bit cut

and made him bleed

Like secrets too quickly swallowed.

Then he placed his grotesque love

down at her feet

where she would not look.
