i drove my cherry red datsun out to the golden dunes
i laid my colt 45 on the sand beside me
i stayed in the dusty desert with the clean air and a hazy mind
thinking of you, the you i just killed, its painful as much as i deserve
a life that started so innocent, now topped with fleeing broken hearts
all i have left of myself is a tan, my gun and my cherry red datsun
