We’ve flown under memorial stars
Covering our lost love soldiers
But not the remaining scars
Red the color bled
White the fight pursued
Blue the trumpeted tune
Came the casket
The final wound

There are always three things in every person’s life.
One is something from the past,
something that was once very important
though this importance is now waning.
The second is something in the future.
What this might be is never clear or obvious,
but it is out there, in ascendancy.
The third is the present.
The present just sits,
not seeming to go anywhere at all.

Stress boils under my skin,
Bubbling its way into my organs,
Holding them hostage,
With anxious worry,
Scenarios run through my brain,
Lightning speed,
Burning out my thinking circuits,
Frazzled, frizzled, fried,

As if to personify the very laws which bind us,
The unequivocal force and strength of our electricity
Wires our two kindred souls together,
Our passion flowing in unbridled surges,
Runaway signals giving chase across a copper cable.
Our impulses race back and forth,
Never wavering, ever gaining,
Intensifying in magnitude,
Two lights shining brighter and brighter still,
Twin flames leaping and dancing onward toward infinity.

I thought of you today
I know its been so long
But I couldn’t help it
It all started with a song
Word by word, lyric by lyric
Until the thought of you came along
I sit here writing you this letter
Of all the things I left unsaid
Of how I felt before you pushed me away
The picture of us reminds me every day
I love you
Is all I ever wanted to say

Tenderness. Who on this, God’s one most unfathomable Earth, can ever account for the sweet rapture of simple human tenderness?
Though you may have desire in your heart, without tenderness you are but a feeble, unredeemed and hollow vessel.
Though you may enjoy every pleasure imaginable, without tenderness you are lost and without meaning in this life.
You may possess the world and its every grace, but without tenderness you remain isolated, unwholesome and filled with unrelenting loneliness.
Without tenderness, we are all savages.

I want to hold my hand out
and cup the rain
so the water fills me
with coolness.
I want to close my eyes tight
and lift my head up
so the wind kisses me
with sharpness.
I want to touch my lips
and feel the lightning
so the shock awakens me
with fierceness.

The Steel Horse
Steel as hard as will
Victory on top of crème
Fast without humbling
A winner born of wind
Just then and in time
The spirit explodes
The lung and heart grow
The silhouette emerges
Thru haze of hard days
Triumph may be temporary
But not today-Not for him

Its time…gravity is falling
Blood runs the sun
Lunar dark recalling
Unfit parts
Load Noah’s arc
The dealer plays
Spade of hearts

Past inferences widdle away flesh,
as If I was not human, but birch-wood.
I fear reverting back to a prison of planks.
Gepetto’s carvings reveal his desire for a child,
But I cannot help wanting to be someone else.
I want this carpenter
To pull me apart and make me into something creative.
Drain this blood from me, it is not real red human blood, but sweet, sticky sap.

The evening rings softly through
The halls of my heart, bearing a strange
Gift of contentment.
There on the hillside we wait for the
Warm glow of the evening sky to give
Way to the secrets we share.
I wait for the night.
I wait for my dreams.
