Somewhere long ago in Africa,

a word was spoken.

The first thread was set on the loom

of history. The glorious, varied tapestry,

weaving our universal Mandela over

the last two hundred thousand years

emerged in it's multicolored -

multicultural pattern.

The light shatters as the darkness begins to besiege.

I yell into the enveloping blackness, “What is this life?”  I do beseech.

Is this fantasy swirling around my reality?

Or am I simply losing touch with my sanity?

Van Gogh.
Galileo could only wonder,
now we wander
viewing God thru his child.

Pictographs, oracle bones. hieroglyphics,

triangles pressed in clay, the Phoneticians

great gift of permanence.

Thoughts, knowledge, entertainment,

philosophy, history, religion, all our

deep pondering could not exist

with accuracy without them.

down a stone-walled corridor littered with broken glass

and alive with angry shadows,

through an archway with its heavy, oak door splintered

and riddled with bullet holes,

Riding her bike along the path

she sees the intersection up ahead,

a busy main road interrupting her path.

She pedals faster, feeling the wind on her face,

the sun on her shoulders,

the crunch of the leaves under her tires.

Shall I measure the winds own weight

Replace Peter at the golden gate

Elevate the skies to match your eyes

Change the truth to match your lies

Glance at me but just once more

And I shall remove the sea from shore

Poke and prod with swollen atennae.
Another piece of rot lies upon my table.
Kin and acquaintances conspire while I eat my meal;

The masters grab the adhesive, "Please take our blessin's."
And then I work.
