I found you
or you found me
Somehow I zigzagged through
everything you had to offer
And it was astounding.
Never knowing, just imagining
how playful you really are
Allowing me to hop around,
to scare myself, to laugh,
I curse whoever first took your picture
A singular image of you
is plain beauty, is disgusting, is unfair.

What a girl I will be.
What a girl you will be.
You'll never lay your eyes upon
what I become
when the pills are done.
I will protect you from my thoughts,
stomach in knots
filled with familiar doubt.
I'll keep you in
I'll keep them out.

The Halal slaughterers used to come at dawn,
they came to kill the lambs,
they would cut their throats, in the shape of a smile.
The slaughterers came at dawn,
and they killed the kids,
they cut their throats in the shape of a smile.

Time shallow monarch
Flicks on the switch
And just above right temple
A firework of pain
Ass cocked to heaven
Face-first he flat-lines
Half way between
Greenhouse and the kennel;
Then – only runnels

He became a master of the fire dance,
His folk they followed without thinking,
Around the bonfires of wisdom, in a trance,
Thousands of torches through the darkness, twinkling.
The ancient symbols on banners unfurled,
Chosen as the new racial identity,
A rising crescendo of hatred was then hurled,
From the throat of this monstrous entity!

We look up in wonder at the stars,
We ponder on there being life on Mars,
And so we've sent a craft to see,
A marvellous thing called "Curiosity".
And on the surface of the big red rock,
The last of its kind looks up in shock,
As from the sky there falls a star,
Which has travelled there from afar.

Me leaves are falling.
They swirl and catch the sunlight creating sparkling winks of tears.
Dew, fragmented and fragile and poignant in the waiting;
They wait for the sun to take them up.
Dew rises
Leaves fall
And in between there are floating billows of dust and debris:
Shrapnel studded splinters,
Feathers from Iccarus,

how do you make the world good?
she asked rhetorically, with a hint of cynicism
after all, she had seen her fair share of badness
death and decaying hope
overwhelming sorrow drenched her sheets
until she rung them out with her frail hands
squeezing droplets
cementing in her consciousness
never to let the world drop her flat on her back again

today I know I have something to say
but I don’t know how to say it
(seems to be the story of my life)
raging words
and silence
but no more
I stand under the shower
and hot water pounds on my mind
and slowly beckons

The best things in life are asymmetrical
They are curved and covered with beautiful flaws
life doesn’t give itself in perfect boxes
smooth and white
everything in rows, accounted for
the real world is wild, undulating
growing into odd shapes and bursting forth

Bling!
A total freak
Some say You Reek
Of bling
You say… it’s the thing
From head to toe
You are glad
A dancing swagger fad
You go, go ,go!

Obsessed. I am. With taking photos of she.
Looking to see if the face in the picture covers the monster well enough in me.
The faces, clothes, poses, they all change.
But I see it in my eyes; something in those dark orbs remains the same.
She and I, girl and monster, are but one.
If we reach our full potential I fear the world will become undone.
