see the woman
young in age
her blossom set to burst
her suitors shove
and acts of love
are awkwardly rehearsed
the lure of life is calling her
she's drawn in by the drum
and she succumbs

This is not a poem
because I format it like one
or because there may be a
word
or two
that rhymes.
This is not a poem
because it has been split
into stanzas
to look all pretty and such.

I'm here to rediscover raw need:
That care-free, 'does she like me?'
Laying in the grass sprawled out
Upon autumn leaves feeling.
That turning over to face your lover
and crunching an awkward
silence away 'til the next kiss.
That open your lips to get ready for this
and breathing in a humid warmth
while the dew settles in the dips of your fingers.
That beautiful, natural fear of betrayal.
I'm here to rediscover;
I'm here.

Pigeon stained benches
Feeding stainers in old straw hats
Withholding ancient thoughts
And why not at war are their skin sacks
It’s nearing an eventual end
Fogged eyes and cataracts
Shield them from clear pretence
Trembling wrinkled hands
Seeding pigeons with natures shakes

There was that point I thought it still could be saved That if I picked it up and breathed into it The conversation would live. And then he said," You don't know what the hell you're talking about." He followed with a slimy twisted diatribe about laziness Or was it entitlement and hard work. It made my head hurt with spin and catch phrases. He was starting to foam In the corners of his mouth. And then he flipped the switch. "And if it takes a dictator and weeding people out To restore America again, then so be it." I saw the ticker tape parade of patriotism Running through his mind With boots stomping on those who disagreed. I could smell the tobacco and barbecue He and his friends would consume voraciously From the bones of brown babies. There was no saving this one The stench of death was too strong And I had no shovel with me.

My best friend,
You take the pain away,
Erase the hate,
Erase the insanity…
Fucker!
You erase it all.
It was no good anyways…
That’s why I pressed you…

Learn Or Burn? I am human just like you, Arms and legs, two and two, Eyes and ears, two as well, And one nose with which to smell, The only differences I can detect, Are the ways we use our intellects. There are those who believe, There are those who think, There are those who believe they think, There are those who think that they believe, And those who simply can't conceive, Of anything other than what they've been told, Are they incapable of being, just a little bit bold?

I like the obscene metal shards that clash on red, they're true-
The bitter liquid that seeps heavy onto my split bones.
The ceremonial kiss before I enclose my tomb of soft sheets.
and I meet this end with open eyes in the night, knowing.
I fall so easily down, but my legs do not support my revenge-
While God coaxed me to lay obediently in your bed, and to not need of air-
I find that you have kept my gasps in your drawer, and let me convulse before my greed-
In morbid fantasy; I contemplate in the breathes before you awaken

Took a walk in the rain today,
As droplets fell from out the sky
I let that water wash away
Any trace of tears in my eye
And onward did I walk until
I found myself atop a hill,
Turned to look back to where I started…
Towards my home, from whence I’d departed
Wondered were there a way to tell
Where either footsteps or raindrops fell

From the rich growth to the ridged waves,
A proud member of his craft lines his tools
And carefully hangs them off the table hooks:
Shears, trimmers, and electronic razors.
He sizes up the bush to envision his masterpiece springing to life.
A delicate pruning is in order, he surmised, as he went to task,
Errantly probing his mind on his next work of art.
Intricate precision knows no bounds on time.

They called it romance once upon a time--
the damsel in the tower in the tale,
the prince who won his princess in the end.
Back then, they said it was a dream-come-true;
nowadays they say it's just a dream.
No one believes in heroes anymore.
Nobody tells those stories anymore,
the remnants of some long-lost golden time
that now exist only in dusty dreams
as nothing more than children's fairy tales.
We don't delude ourselves that they are true.
We all know how the story goes--and ends.

When my thoughts of you are faded to a wisp, back it is here you drift in.
You start to make me yearn again, make my head spin, my blood burning.
I want to sing you a song to make you see your pores and all the essence that live within.
To dance in nothing but scarves that hypnotizes you with yearning to live again.
Your clothes fall off and you lay back, my fingers come at you, you fear an attack.
Lightly caress in entirety from head to toe, I admire beauty you can’t see and will never know.
Every mark, scar, freckle and mole, they all tell stories and say who you are, stories of your soul.
