Even though we are ten-thousand miles apart
A US Soldier persevered and succeeded in capturing my heart
The memory of his eyes, warmth, and captivating smile
Still makes my heart skip a beat --- reminding me that life is worthwhile
Everyday, I visit and bask in the warmth of our special place
The very site filled with laughter and moments of our happy days
As fate eternally rules over our desperate desires and destiny
It has shown me the power of enduring LOVE in all its grandeur and intensity
Family and friends have hinted a beautiful, radiating, ever-lasting smile and glow
Perhaps if they look intently on my gaze, they'd see the flip-side of my story that they need to know
Many girls ultimately dream that one day they can be exactly in my place
I pray the Angels they enlighten each that being in my place requires fortitude and enduring grace
In times of stillness, there I see --- a crystal drop of my tear
As I'm frozen in time and yearning, I realize the passing of a year
No mail, calls and a direct way to shower him with love and affection
Then see him suddenly with an intriguing air and mystery saying "My silence is for your own protection"
If all my patience and virtue be measured in Heavenly merit and weight
Then I can confidently and absolutely say "I am indeed worthy to stand by Heaven's gate"
As I sit and ponder in our special place, watching the magnificent colors of twilight
Rays of hope appear--that time will come, I'll embrace my soldier ever so close to me at night
Instances come and life presents choices , chancesand a path for change
Promises of stability, ease , certainty, comfort and adventures---both familiar and strange
By declaring two words that can purchase my ultimate freedom and relief: "We're through"
I finally told life "I'm taking my chances by giving all my love to my soldier------
LOVE that is ARMY STRONG and TRUE
