The Book?

Blaze ideology with forgiveness in tongue.

Age bends knee’s with the regrets of the young.

Alter faith in promises of love.

Bread becomes body when grapes bleed wine from above.

Father’s shine on holy sons when no one sees ghosts;

While flesh drinks blood in universal toasts.

Bless this paper with words bound in The Book.

Give thanks to the trees for the sacrifices we took.

Organize souls with consequential destinations.

Storied redemptions require suited indignations.

Steal these times, and leave Sunday for the chest.

Shake a stranger’s hand, and let peace be with the rest.

Veil these sinners and let them speak their wings.

Truth purifies the melody, while Jezebel laughs and sings.

Bless this paper with words bound in The Book.

Give thanks to the trees for the sacrifices we took.

I am torn between reading this as a condemnation of religion, or Man's need for the spiritual. In any case, this was well done, excellent form and use of rhyming. Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback. I believe it to be a combination of the two actually. Where one is void the other may not adequetly fill, yet the need for each other is unmistakable; well in this poem at least.
