Marry Me

The wedding day is over and all the talk has turned to lies.
All the guests have gone home now drunk on love and life.

The bride and groom are in a limousine lost in a kiss and happy for fate.
It will be forever or at least until the morning, that God is with them all the way.

The dishes are clean again waiting to serve another couple in grace.
The cooks and waiters are quietly smiling, showing their own dreams on their faces.

'This is what it's all about,' she says, as destiny whisks them away.
'I have no doubts,' he replies, 'for you are my faith.'

The bride and groom are on an areoplane, lost in a gaze and happy for fate.
It will be forever, or at least until the morning, that God is with them all the way.

Mothers and fathers talk of the days when they felt the same.
Now daddy says, 'I love you more than ever,' and mommy replies, 'I'm so happy we played this game.'

The lights in the reception hall have been turned off now, and the air still smells of roses and wine.
Cousin Sherry holds her enchanted bouquet close, and with a tear in her eye she whispers, 'everything will be fine.'

The bride and groom are on an island, making love and so happy for fate.
It will be forever, or at least until the morning, that God is with them all the way.

The picture is getting cloudy as the magic night turns to day.
All the guests with their hangovers smile for life, then go on about their normal way.

The maids in the wedding hall have turned all their promises to dust,
And daddy turns on the news to hear the limousine driver got drunk and turned their chariot into a bus.

The bride and groom are in a memory, lost in tragedy and questioning fate.
It should have been forever, but only lasted until the morning God made me wake.

Terribly tragic but morbidly romantic.
