Did you just post a piece, then read a piece, then comment

I believe it is important to all writers that they get good feedback on what they have written. As a means to that end, I would ask the opinion of all who visit and or contribute to this site about the following practice. If you've just posted a poem, before signing off, read someone else's poem, perhaps two, or even three. Respond with a comment. It will make this site more vibrant. What do you all think?

I know I've just commented on my own forum topic, but I'm trying to get it to list on "Recent comments." Looking forward to some responses.

Yes, that's a good practice. I try to follow it myself. When people read other's work and comment on it, it makes for more of a community. We have some really good poets and writers submitting these days too, so it shouldn't be hard to find something interesting.

Yeah, I find this very helpful and encouraging. Its a great feeling when you see someone enjoyed what you wrote. Its easy enough, especially with the stuff I've read on here, at the least to just say something like, "I really enjoyed the line..."; "I like when the character did..."; "The dialogue here is..." etc., etc., etc. All writers and poets know how much work goes into their pieces so seeing ANY form of praise or constructive criticism is great.

Every writer needs a second opinion... someone to say, "You got lazy on the ending" or "The beginning needs work." That is what makes good writing or poetry.

I enjoy reading all the comments... and posting what I think too! Reading other peoples work is mind-opening and is something I look forward to since joining this site. All the personalities here make for something new to read everyday! Love it!
