Joshua Hennen says: "Amazing work! Great ending... it is really difficult to give unexpected twists in such a limited amount of time, but you did it flawlessly. The dialogue was believable too. The only recommendation that I could make is that you clearly specify that the last scene was at the hospital first of all, because I was thinking it was at the office, ie the officer was giving the rundown to the office manager at the scene. I didn't realize where that was taking place until Ed spoke and the hospital was definitely mentioned at that point."

But that could just be stylistic of me."

grunfruaorshell says: "While reading this part of me wanted it to be smoother or less rushed , for lack of a better word. I was hoping for more cohesion and depth. And then I got to the end and realized, no. That would not have worked here. The flow and the style, whether intentional or not, are indicative to Richard's self absorption and need for instant gratification. Well done and I thoroughly enjoyed the ending."

Joshua Hennen says: "It seems that the formatting may have been messed up on this, I don't know. But this reads like poetry in the form of prose. Try this as an exercise: write one paragraph describing a scene. This will develop your descriptive powers. And just because its short doesn't mean it can't be a complete story. Sometimes you can let the reader devise their own plots by titillating them. See Ernest Hemingway's complete story, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn.""
